Suffering and the Christian Life, Sermon 6

Jesus takes our suffering seriously. He takes our emotions seriously as well. Our emotions are God-given, although our emotions are bent and twisted from sin. We live in a fallen world where we experience real emotions. In the Gospels we see Jesus' emotional life displayed for us. Jesus is not stoic and unmoved. He reacts to the world around Him. He is moved with compassion. He is joyful. He even weeps multiple times.

In this sermon I talk about emotions, especially anxiety and worry. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, constant worry, grief, or anything else please reach out to your friends, your family, your pastor, or even a trained counselor. God has given us each other so that we can love one another. You are not hopeless. You are not alone. This world would not be better off without you. Please reach out for help if you need it. You are not alone, the Lord is near.
