Ephesians 5:21-6:9
"The Letter to the Ephesians."

Household codes were extremely common in the different philosophies of the ancient world. Paul was familiar with the different worldviews of the Gentiles (anyone who wasn't Jewish), and in his preaching utilized contextualization. Which means that he knew who he was preaching to and how to reach them. In this section of his letter, Paul anticipates some questions that the Ephesian converts would have had and addresses them. Paul knew about household codes and included one to help the converts to understand how to live their everyday lives grounded in the fact that through Christ they are new creations.
