Rev. Dr. Travis Shafer has been the Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Omro since November 2012. He earned his Masters of Divinity in 2010 from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in May 2023 from Covenant Theological Seminary.
Dr. Shafer serves as a trustee on the Board of Directors for Carter Memorial Library in Omro.
His hobbies include reading, hiking, and spending time with his wife, Morgan and their two dogs - Benson and Honey.
Janine King has been our church musician for many years. She is the owner of Kings Music Studio in Omro and has been teaching musical instruments for over 20 years to students age six to adults. She teaches piano, guitar, ukulele and violin.
Jill Stiller has been teaching Sunday school at the First Presbyterian Church in Omro since 1996. For many years Jill owned a hair salon and gave family haircuts before recently retiring. Now she and her husband enjoy babysitting their grandchildren and grand-dogs regularly. She enjoys traveling and is active in volunteering in the church life committee as well as the Omro Women's Service League.
Eve Funnell has been teaching the middle school class at First Presbyterian Church for over 7 years. She has a background in art and design and has worked as an illustrator for children’s books. Eve loves the outdoors, hiking, traveling and doing art. She works in partnership with Amy Funnell as scenic designer for First Presbyterian Church’s annual Christmas pageant.
Leah Olson is new to teaching the middle school class as of 2021 and enjoys it! Leah is a licensed cosmetologist that has been working in her industry for over a decade. She has 2 children of her own and enjoys spending time with family fishing, swimming and camping. She also has a great passion for helping others in any way she can!
Morgan Shafer teaches middle school Sunday school and has been teaching at First Presbyterian Church of Omro since 2013. Morgan works as a licensed professional mental health counselor, and she has a passion for teaching and encouraging others. Her hobbies include reading, hiking, and spending lots of time with her husband and their two rescue dogs.
Stacey Wright has been teaching Sunday School at First Presbyterian Church in Omro for the past 20+ years. She is currently working as a Library Media Specialist for the Omro School District. She previously was a stay-at-home mom, while raising her three children. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She loves to teach preschoolers about the Bible and help them their faith journey.
Nancy Jackson has been teaching Sunday school at the First Presbyterian Church of Omro for about 15 years. She has worked as a special education paraprofessional, and also as a custodian at the elementary, middle, and high schools. She has volunteered with 4-H for over 10 years, and is active in our church serving on deacons, the church life committee, and has served as our church secretary. She loves working with the youngest members of our congregation, teaching them about the love of Jesus. Nancy is a proud grandmother and loves being involved in the lives of her grandchildren.
